Municipal area changes

On Friday, two area transfers between a subdistrict administrative organization (TAO) and the neighboring municipality were announced in the Royal Gazette. They were published rather fast - published on September 1, signed one month ago on August 6, and discussed in the board to consider draft laws on July 2. In fact, the board meeting transcripts from July were just uploaded last week, and I am still busy to work through them.
  • Ban Phue TAO (องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลบ้านผือ), Ban Phue district, Udon Thani province, ceding area to Ban Phue subdistrict municipality (เทศบาลตำบลบ้านผือ). [Gazette TAO, Gazette Municipality]
  • Nam Suai TAO (องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลน้ำสวย), Mueang Loei district, Loei province, ceding area to Nam Suai subdistrict municipality (เทศบาลตำบลน้ำสวย). [Gazette TAO, Gazette Municipality]
As usual, only the announcement on the municipality includes the boundary definition and a map, and this only shows the location of the municipal office and not the TAO office.

I didn't have the time to look into the details of the which areas where transferred, but for Nam Suai already last year a boundary adjustment was done [Gazette, Blog posting]. For Ban Phue, until now the boundaries were still those dating back to the creation of the sanitary district Ban Phue in 1957 [Gazette], when the precursor of the municipality was defined by a plain rectangular area - thus in this case the area of the municipality was enlarged significantly.
